Marine jay hylton from Swadlincote in Derbyshire died on the Shatt al-Arab river, the main waterway
on the north eastern outskirts of Basra city. On Sunday 12th of November 2006, elements of the boat
group were conducting a routine patrol of the waterway, moving from south to north,As part of this
patrol, it was necessary to negotiate a number of areas where movement is constrained. One of these
points is a pontoon bridge.
While near the pontoon bridge, one of the rigid raiding craft came under attack from an improvised
explosive device and this killed Marine Hylton as well as causing 3 other marines to lose there
lives.
Jay who was divorced leaves behind to sons Joshua 16 and Nathan 13,
Mum and DAD Ann and Pat and brothers Darren and mick.
Jay was allways life and soul of the party and allways had a smile on his face when you were feeling
down he would be the one to pick you up.
Hundreds of people lined the streets on the day of his funeral to say goodbye in there own way it
showed how popular and liked Jay was.
Ill never forget his smiling face and allways think of him when i hear the Boyzone song ' No
Matter What ' he/we would allways sing his kareoke favourite.

Hi Mate soz aint been on 4 ages had trouble logging into this new site Grrrrrrrr
Brads still doing really well at trent 4th in the points and close to 3rd so with some luck he can still finish in the top 3.
He has got another new mini aswell now to race on tarmac he raced at Birmingham last week I think he really enjoyed it but found it different to racing on the mud not as easy as just putting your foot down and going for it.
lanas still looking for a job she aint even been offered an interview she hates not working and not having any money.
I expect your in the pub with all the other heroes having a few beers making everyone laugh and taking the Mickey out of some poor soul.
Make sure you look out for Marias Brother and all the others that have gone out to Afghanistan keep them all safe mate.

Hope everything is great with you and you are looking after all them poor lads and the new girl that has joined you im sure you are,If anyone was gonna welcome them you would definately be the one.
Im allways thinking of you I just cant help it ill never forget your smiling face.
Things are looking pretty good at the moment Brads racing is S**t hot he is on fire mate just need to keep looking after the mini and everything will be fine.
Im still convinced you have had summat to do with how things went with him from the start of the season just to keep me and him on our toes he is really in with a good shout of finishing in the top 3 this year and thats what we aimed for at the start so keep looking out for him, no more interfering you F****r I know what you are like.
Im sure you was as allmost as happy as he was after last meeting when he won every heat he told me he was gonna win them all and he did I lost my bet I had to buy him a new mobile phone it was worth it though, he held his final winning trophy all the way home he was so happy and me too, its the 1st final he has finished and he won it yippeeee.
I bet you have been the life and soul of the party all weekend mate because thats the kind of bloke you are making sure everyone enjoys themselves.
