Marine jay hylton from Swadlincote in Derbyshire died on the Shatt al-Arab river, the main waterway
on the north eastern outskirts of Basra city. On Sunday 12th of November 2006, elements of the boat
group were conducting a routine patrol of the waterway, moving from south to north,As part of this
patrol, it was necessary to negotiate a number of areas where movement is constrained. One of these
points is a pontoon bridge.
While near the pontoon bridge, one of the rigid raiding craft came under attack from an improvised
explosive device and this killed Marine Hylton as well as causing 3 other marines to lose there
lives.
Jay who was divorced leaves behind to sons Joshua 16 and Nathan 13,
Mum and DAD Ann and Pat and brothers Darren and mick.
Jay was allways life and soul of the party and allways had a smile on his face when you were feeling
down he would be the one to pick you up.
Hundreds of people lined the streets on the day of his funeral to say goodbye in there own way it
showed how popular and liked Jay was.
Ill never forget his smiling face and allways think of him when i hear the Boyzone song ' No
Matter What ' he/we would allways sing his kareoke favourite.

Hi Jay sorry it has been so long mate, but the last few months I find that I come on here, do a few candles and then it all gets too much and I have to back off. It is heartbreaking all you special, brave lads and its still going on Jay, another one today. Anyway, have you had a great weekend with the boys? Lots of beer and laughs? I do hope so. Just thought id let you know how Brad got on last meeting he won his 1st race and got second in the second race and spun out in the final but could nt get his gears so he had a good meeting he drove really well I was well chuffed for him so he is heading in the right direction now.
Brad has found a new track where he can race so were going to Sheffield tommorrow and see how he gets on there be something new and different for us all.
He loves racing and since we said we would go he aint shut up about it allday so hopefully he will do ok look over him mate and give him some luck.
I bet your out on the town already half drunk with all your new mates living it up fair play to you , you all deserve it.
I seen daz in swad today I hope you have wished kelly a happy birthday.
Lana is 18 tommorow aswell shes growing up now I can still remember her in a push chair and on them little baby swings in the zoo when went Drayton manor all them years ago

I aint been on for ages my internet has been broke you probably had something to do with that.
I aint racing this year as you probably already know and Brad aint had a a good start to the season I cant help but think you have had something to do with his car playing up its just the sort of thing you would do to wind me up.
He ran out of petrol one of the races 1st meeting and I bet you was laughting your head off.
well Ive had a play about and ive got a few bits to change on his mini and hopefully you will leave it alone you have had your fun !!!
